Villagers Hear Gregorian Chant For the First Time

Support the channel by visiting: brianholdsworth.locals.com/ or brianholdsworth.ca/support Debate about liturgy and music in the Catholic Church has been so hysterical for so long, that it’s hard to find anything new to say about it, but every now and then, something refreshing will break through and provide a measure of lucidity in a way that the well rehearsed debates don’t. And for me, that ...
Are Gay Priests a Thing?

Support the channel by visiting: brianholdsworth.locals.com/ or brianholdsworth.ca/support The question of “gay priests” and gay seminarians has been much in the spotlight lately, especially with comments made by Pope Francis which I won’t be repeating here. And so, the media wants to know is the Catholic Church going to be more accepting of gay priests and seminarians soon, as if this is an in...

How Gender Theory Self-Destructs

Reacting to a Christian Stepping on the Bible

Why are Atheists Angry at God?

The Last Lesson from Church Militant and Michael Voris
"Sounds like a personal problem."
They try to worship the God of Abraham so you could argue their intention is towards the same God but they are deeply heretical in their beleifs about His nature. So it comes back to that odd question of whether you can worship God while having mistaken beleifs about Him.
If you want to accuse someone of somethinf bad, pls at least give us the reference
That's Renaissance Polyphony -- not Gregorian Chant which is older and in an entirely different style.
Well said
That one always mystified me. It's almost as if Protestants never heard of eternal life.
Misere me ....
As a catholic single I have always dated people outside of my parish and community. As much as I have tried to date within my community I have been unsuccessful. I feel discouraged by a generally not welcoming attitude from most ladies. The most cruel and offensive rejections I have suffered in my life came from catholic ladies from my own catholic church environment. Most catholic dating advice, specially from priests, is out of touch with reality and place the burden heavily in the men. No one seems willing to address the other side of the equation. I do not fully understand the reasons but I feel much more welcomed by the ladies outside of church and more likely will end up marrying one of them if the trend continues. I do not consider that a bad thing, but things would be better for everyone if we were more open, welcoming and caring for the people, of the opposite sex specially, within our own communities.
By definition, all--all-- of a certain group are materially heretical. By accident, some of another certain group are materially heretical. That is a HUGE distinction. In defense of us informed Catholics who know the distinction and, against the popular (heretical) trend toward indifferentism, have continued to call this spade the spade that, by definition, it is.
Well done: I picked up a few good tips!
Thanks Brian! Very wise and intelligent speech that we need to hear.

Horrible argument lmao
If the Catholic church can survive the child sexual abuse scandal, it can survive the Pope saying it is OK to be gay.
Yeah this makes sense thanks
I'm a single lonely older gay man who has never had a long term relationship , so who knew i am good christian now
Christianity is not dying. The Western, sold out, money worshiping 401(C3) churches are dying. People are finally waking up to this SCAM.
this is so good
Only if you understand Latin. Which most of us don’t
Probing
Galileo's problem with the church was not that his results contradicted the Faith, but that he presented his theories as facts without sufficient evidence. He also upset many people with his aggressive behavior. And Galileo was not tortured, but he was treated well during his trial and under house arrest, and evidence eventually emerged to support his theories.
As I understand it, the controversy around Galileo was less about his cosmological findings and claims, and more about how he addressed the Pope and clergy. Still not a great look for church hierarchy, but not anti-scientific.
I always get ticked off when they tell me that I worship idles. I always tell them I worship God why don’t you come to mass with me one of these days? They’re so unwilling.

Catholicism seems so bizarre and confused, going by these sites. All I find are people talking about Mary, tongues vs. hands, Latin vs. English, hatred of the pope, hatred of protestants, anger, strange saints, weird prophecies and signs and wonders, doomsday nonsense, obsession with sex and the devil, what a confused mess! Nobody ever talks about Jesus and his teaching: feeding the hungry, being peacemakers, not judging, not condemning, being merciful, loving one’s enemies, the hypocrisy and pride of religious leaders, etc. Are there any normal Catholic sites I can go to, or is this weird stuff all there is? Sad!
The best music for mass is obviously grindcore
Music has no “color” or “race”, it is a universe language. Any argument on ethnicity or culture is ignorant of the depth of music.
Absolutely
The New Mass is more similar to the Old Mass when it is done as a Latin Mass (as St. John Cantius does it), ad orientem with all-male altar servers and Gregorian Chant.
You don’t have to. Nobody is forcing you. I love going to the SSPX. I want to attend the traditional mass by the SSPX for the next of my life God willing.
I must say though, the channel also exposes them to other religions' music or chants, such as the Islamic Azan, and they react the same way.
I enjoy hearing about your religious journey. I appreciate your honest explanations.
I love this video. I couldn’t agree more, and I’m getting very sick of all the gaslighters trying to downplay the importance of genres for sacred music.
I like your point Brian, and i feel like you, when I was younger maybe in a world with no porn, erotic or women half naked in the world, maybe I wasn't such a mess in that regards, now free of porn and lust I feel and see the world different. I wish I didn't made my mistakes but that's life. The Thing about freedom is got the good things and bad things, we have free will and with a lot of freadom comes a lot of mistakes, we cannot demand people to wear modesty each person has their own identity and values and vision of the world, so we live in this damaged world, but i still prefer to live like this I live in Portugal that a Muslim country where the women don't have rights. We live in a world full of chaos and immorality is one more thing to kill our peace but I cannot judge them I know I was a teenager and lost in every way. I THink the best way is try to show by example what is right and love them, don't treat people different or think you're better than immodest persons . One thing I agree, People should think about the innocent. WE live in a community, let love and compassion guide us and kill our selfish ways.
Why didn't you share the original video?
The idea that Jesus had to be sacrificed to His Father in order for the Father to forgive us is pagan heresy and something the early church actually never believed or taught. There are better ways of understanding the atonement that are at our fingertips if only we took the time to study and wrestle with these ideas rather than just eating what is handed to us without a second thought. Yes, it is true that Jesus had to enter into human suffering and die at the hands of His own, but it wasn’t to satiate the wrath the Father held against us due to our infidelity. The whole point of the sacrifice, as was explained in this video, was to make up for every way in which we lacked through the love that was expressed through the obedient suffering and death Jesus went through on our behalf. The cross is not about appeasement; it’s about making amends. God‘s disposition towards mankind has always been one of grace and love. The sacrificial system was put in place for our sole benefit, because we were the ones with a seared conscience that held us back from true intimacy with God. The spilling of blood was never so that God could be ok with us; it was so that we could receive His never-ending love and acceptance of us for ourselves-for He has never been against us; only against the sin that distorts His image in us. In other words, the blood doesn’t purchase our forgiveness. It is the perfect expression of it. That is why without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.
I have never been shameful of the crusades and never will based on the ACTUAL history, and the necessity of them.
So don't be friends with non believers because we are so weak they will eventually turn us, then they won't see our lives, faith or example? Will do. I regret my deep friendships that resulted in conversion.
Excellent deep dive on this. I feel like things have gotten worse in this regard in the past few years.
Nowadays Catholic women are just fake. Terrible personalities, horrible character, holier than thou, looking for prince charming.
“Like getting a vasectomy and then praying for children.” 😂😂😂 Love the illustrations, man. Ha!
If it's not the crusades you name will be mohamed and will speak Arabic
Instead of presenting atheist strawmen to knock down, why not have a real atheist thinker on your video and try for a real discussion? I understand you to be a Catholic apologist. Here's a question that you can answer on your videos some time. How can you possibly believe in the moral authority of the Roman Catholic Church when over many decades, the Roman Catholic Church has been amply demonstrated to be vigorously working to protect and nurture pedophiles? The Church has expended vastly more energy in the protection of priestly pedophiles from civil consequences worldwide than it has spent in the care for the victims of priestly sexual predation. Having seen the overwhelming evidence during my lifetime, I cannot see how anyone could consider your church to be the agent of a just, loving and all-powerful God. If there is a Catholic God, He is obviously not the master over His own earthly house, let alone the rest of the universe.
